Joe Todd has been the volunteer coordinator for the Natire Conservancy's Cypress Island Preserve at Lake Martin since 2010. Not only does he schedule volunteers for the Visitors Center, he volunteers there nearly every Saturday and has since the volunteer group was initiated. Why this finalist deserves the title "Acadiana Hero"? 
Robert is an At teacher/FFA Advisor at Comeaux High School who has nonstop helped victims of the recent flood, in all parishes most in need, by amassing a support system to secure donations for people and animals from all over the country, deliver supplies, and provided thousands of meals to those in need with a zero budget. Hero Name: Amy Meadows

Why this finalist deserves the title "Acadiana Hero"? 
Amy works at Live Oak Elementary as a Reading Interventionist. This job pays minimum wage, but she works as tirelessly, and with equal efforts as any teacher in the school system. She does this knowing she could easily work in other jobs, making far more, but does so because so many of these children are at risk. She takes such pride and joy in seeing these young minds succeed. Just the other day she learned that one of her students had finally passed a vocabulary test, and she almost broke into tears....
